Union Technical will be attending the upcoming Warm and Safe at Home seminar hosted by the NEA. Held on the 13th June 2017 at 1.15pm-4.00pm in the Centre for Life, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, the seminar will bring together representatives from the energy industry, local authorities and housing associations, right through to agencies assisting vulnerable people with their energy needs, who all share the same goal of delivering warmer, healthier, and safer homes in the UK.
The event will provide key insights into the current policy landscape of the domestic energy market, with input from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Ofgem and NEA. Focus will centre on the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) post-2018, and there will be a debate into improving the new scheme. Additionally, the seminar will critically analyse the current approaches to housing standards and enforcement, whilst also explore the findings from the rapid gas appliance repair pilot, showcasing new research into carbon monoxide safety.
Union Technical has already helped to bring thousands of homes in Scotland, England and Wales out of fuel poverty, and we have ambitious plans to continue doing so.
